A BIT OF HISTORY
Shakshuka is a traditional dish from Tunisia and North Africa, in general, where it jumped to Israel, a country where it’s considered a national dish and enjoyed for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Bino Gabso personifies this gastronomic journey as its best. His family moved from Libya to Israel in 1949 and for the last 25 years he has been cooking and serving shakshuka at his restaurant in Tel Aviv, Dr. Shakshuka.
Chef Yotam Ottolenghi made shakshuka popular in London and UK through his restaurant Nopi and his book Jerusalem. People’s love for Mediterranean and Levantine cuisine made the rest and now you can enjoy shakshuka in lots of spots around London, with Café Loren serving 9 different kinds of shakshukas.
